Nice hat! Hail State! Oh, and great technique! I'm trying it out tomorrow. 🤣
You didn't make one.... hahahaha 😆 😂
🤣🤣🤣🤣
"about a thousand feet away" lol
i'd say 1250 at least.
Chris this is an incredibly well done and informative video not mention inspirational for me personally. After watching your video I felt comfortable enough to purchase my own pantograph. I noticed that at one point in the video you mentioned that if you don't have a "T" slot table you'd need to figure out an unorthodox method of clamping. Please have a look at the video link im going to share of the clamping system I came up with to overcome this obstacle. ruclips.net/video/Wf-Q4Km17DQ/видео.htmlsi=Km1sVq5YLjfaVg-A
I’m here for it, you’re hilarious lol subbed
It's called a horseshoe putt
Almost! I think the horseshoe putt is purely a push putt. This pot is the same except he makes it into a spin putt right at the end 😅
😂
Thank you for the review Chris !
You're welcome
Very interesting. Thanks for the review.
Thanks Greg!
I first checked Amazon for that punch die kit and found it for 47, then checked Harbor Freight and it was on clearance for 20. Thank you for the video!
You're welcome. Thanks for watching!
Very good try! You're so close. You'll get it dialed in eventually. 👍🏽😃
Hey chris as always great vid. So i have been searching no where have i seen any one sharing how they mill or cut the three sides of a tang of a slip joint. I understand the ratios but i have not seen anyone cut theirs. Could you point me in a good direction?????Thank..
Hey Ralph. Check out this video where I review the Kennedy Fixture. I talk about getting the three sides of the tang set correctly. I believe that most folder makers just grind that area rather than mill them. It's something that you cut out, and then grind and test, grind and test, and grind and test until you get it set correctly. The Kennedy Fixture isn't necessary, It just helps. ruclips.net/video/8YtHsMRI4js/видео.html If you want to see a really basic way of doing it, check out my old slipjoint tutorial from 23 years ago. chriscrawfordknives.com/tutorials/written-tutorials/slipjoint/page-1/
Thanks chris. Great way to ctr w/o using an indicator. Thanks
Its a great video explaining how you make your bushing.
Thanks Ralph
Chris. Why do you make your pivot hole in the blade .172dia and not .188 3/16????????
I turn the bushing down from 3/16" stock so that I can make sure my hole is centered. By drilling fist, and then turning the stock down. my hole will be centered between the outsides. I actually do it a little differently now. Now I drill the hole and then cut the bushing off. I then place the bushing on a separate mandrel and turn it down. I get even more accuracy this way. I got this idea from Ken Honeycutt.
Thanks Chris ! I really appreciate the info on these ! Definitely going to check on these optics !
Good deal! I was sent the light package, and I'll be reviewing it sometime soon. Thanks.
Hi what is the cost and can you send to South Africa
The basic kit comes with one set of spinners, and it goes for $100. You can add additional sets of spinners for $50 each, and I have three different sizes available. The different spinner sets are for 1/16", 3/32", and 1/18" pins. Shipping would be whatever it cost to get it to SA. I do ship world wide, but can't guarantee the delivery, once the package has left the US.
Súper. Una pregunta nuca he usado uno. La guia debe tenir el mismo diámetro que la herramienta?
Hello. It will depend on the ratio that you're using to cut the shield. If you are using a 4:1 ratio, and your cutter is 1mm, then the stylus should be 4mm.
What do you paint the bones with?
I purchase the bone already colored.
Thank you for teaching about bushing pin. As I just purchased Chriss Reeve Sebenza31, I deeply impressesd. I will keep watching on your youtube.
Thanks!
Great to see a new video Chris ! I have learned so much from your videos … such as Milling out my liners , making my own pivot bushings , …and I have utilized some of your patterns online … (mostly your edc ) however , .. I’ve not attempted an automatic yet … you are a very impressive maker ! Thanks for sharing your knowledge! Great job !
Thanks so much for the encouragement. I'm glad the videos and material have been helpful to you.
Nice design, great looking knife...
Thanks so much!
That's awesome! I will track you down at blade & shake your hand! Love all your videos!
Sounds good! I'll be at table 9U in the main room.
Thanks a lot
You're welcome!
Hi Chris, thanks for this really useful video! I just want to confirm in my mind that you move the stylus in a anti-clockwise direction when following the outside of a pattern, and move it clockwise when cutting an internal cavity shape - is this correct? Many thanks, Malc (UK)
Hey Malc. I've tent to go counter clockwise on both the pocket and shield. Maybe I should try it the way you're suggesting. Thanks.
Thanks Chris. I’m using this system this morning on a hidden tang
Great! I hope they worked well for you!
Awesome instructional video! Thanks for all your work Chris!
You're welcome! I'm glad the videos have been helpful!
How do you set pins in a boot knife where you don’t want to cut in to the handle material?
You might could leave the pins longer and go ahead and peen a head on them and lock them into place. Then you might could use the spinners to clean up the heads, but being careful not cut into the scales.
Good instructional video! Is the integral hold down fixture 1” steel? What dimensions? Thanks helping us fledging makers !
Thanks! The base could really be any thickness you like. I just happened to have that piece available to me, so I used it. Hope this helps.
This would work when using antlers I think.
Yes. They're great for any type of handle material that's not flat. They work on flat material also, but I prefer to grind my pins flat on smooth scales.
He do you make these to sale? I need a set.
Yes. I've just started making them again. Please check out my website for more info. Thanks! chriscrawfordknives.com/home/no-peen-head-spinners/
this is a terrible video
I have a real buck 110 and a buck 110 auto clone but could you take parts from the clone and convert the real one to auto?
Well cuz id never try myself id never be able to do it id mess everything up
My brother told me he was picking up a Pantograph Mill from an auction. So I googled what the heck a pantograph mill is. Your video was one that came up, and was pretty cool. I also checked out your knife website. Nice project and side hustle for sure. Like the quality.
Thanks for sharing Chris ! I have learned a lot from you and have used your EDC pattern several times .. thank you for all your videos .. very much appreciate your craftsmanship sir .
That's awesome, John. I'm glad the videos and other resources have been helpful.
Cool small knives
Thank you!
Sometimes beautiful things come in small packages. Great looking knives.
Thanks so much!
Thank you ! Great idea ! I really appreciate your videos !
what about a video how you make a template?
Very cool
The ending of the video 😂 Can't believe that nobody commented on that! So.e of these comments are even funnier then the ending! I'm over here dying! Lol 😂😂😂
Thank you so much Chris ! This was very helpful to me !
Can you recommend more affordable and smaller machine that will work with your patents Amazon does have one
Hello Barry. I can't necessarily recommend it, but some folks have had success using the Proxxon pantograph, so that might be an option. I've never used one personally, so I can't speak from experience. I know some people have been able to use it, and some haven't, so take that for what it's worth. I do have a write up about it on my website though. chriscrawfordknives.com/pantographs/the-proxxon-pantograph/ Hope this helps. -Chris
Hello Chris, I appreciate your integrity about tour skill. Very well done😀
Thanks Harry!
Thanks
brilliant
I'm surprised there are no comments on this video in 3 yrs! This is a darn good video with good info that is well presented. Nothing gripes me more than a "nail breaker" knife. Yes, a heavy pull makes the blade really snap, but it doesn't need a heavy pull to snap just fine. Thank you Chris for the video
Hey Ken, Thanks for the kind words. Yea, I don't care for a super heavy pull either. Thanks!
Très joli machine
Very nice 👍
Thanks!
